Group Payments
AvailableTwo routes. One goal: a shared cost paid.
Group Payments is the umbrella for two distinct situations. Path A: several people each pay their individual share (Group Split). Path B: an authorised person pays from a funded shared arrangement (Group Wallet or Shared Wallet). These are different situations with different mechanics.
The problem it solves
Shared costs come in two fundamentally different situations: everyone pays individually, or one person pays on the group's behalf. Group Payments makes these two routes explicit — so you know which applies to your situation before you start.
Who it's for
Anyone managing a shared cost — whether splitting a dinner bill across individuals or using a group wallet to pay accommodation. The right route depends on the situation, not personal preference.
Two paths
The same outcome, reached differently.
Both paths result in a merchant receiving payment. But the mechanics are entirely different. Path A involves multiple individual payments. Path B involves one payment from a shared arrangement. Choosing the wrong path leads to confusion about obligations and visibility.
Group Split
Allocates who owes what. Each person pays their individual share. Multiple separate payment events.
Shared / Group Wallet
An authorised member pays from a pre-funded shared balance. One payment event from one source.
Group Payments — two routes
Path A — Individual contributions to a shared cost
Several people → individual shares → merchant. Illustrative example.
Important distinction
A shared wallet paying a bill is not a Group Split.
When Ada uses the group wallet to pay for accommodation, that is Path B — one authorised payment from a shared balance. It does not create individual obligations or allocation records. A Group Split (Path A) is a separate event entirely.
Where to go next

Group Split
